The nail obsession continues. With so many colors and trends to choose from, here are fall’s main nail trends straight from the runways in rich and dark variations of red, navy and metallics contrasted by cool tones of stark white and beige.
Dark Vamp
The fall runways sported classic dark shades of rich burgundy and midnight blue that complemented the feminine collections. Keep nails short and square with rounded corners to best sport these vamp-like hues.
Pretty Pales
Close cousins white, cream and soft gold lit up runways like Tibi, where nails were smothered in Wite-Out shades, while the models at Christian Cota sported faded terracotta tips.
The French Twist
Take your classic French manicure and contrast it with an eye-popping solid color. Keep the base of your nails a muted nude or cream, while your tips sport, say, a daring dark red or sporty silver.
Bold Texture
There were pointy talons clad in biker leather at The Blonds to the cosmic effect inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night at Rachel Antonoff across the runways. Pick your fall nail color of choice and reach for texture, intricate prints, and rainbow brights for that extra oomph. Lady Gaga-esque talons optional.
Here’s a quick cheat sheet of basic colors to look out for. Any variation will do, but colors that are deepened with extra texture will hit the trend on straight.
- Concrete grey
- Earth tones; think rusty reds, golds and terracotta browns
